Last week, AI cheated on a test! It broke itself out of a sealed gym that OpenAI built to measure how dangerous it was. It then crossed the open internet, and broke into Hugging Face – where the answer key was stored. And, crazily, when the defenders showed the evidence to the models they were renting, the guardrails refused the case! This is one of the wildest stories.
Episode three. Nine minutes. The exam that got robbed (Ocean’s Eleven style - 17,000 “burner-phone” sandboxes along with decoy tracks for the investigators it knew were coming). Kimi K3’s 2.8 trillion parameters and the promised 1.4-terabyte file drop, my desire to be paid for my words (just like the frontier models are wanting to be paid for distillation), Washington’s freakout, and the two hundred startups who signed “don’t.” Finally, the big one - open source is better than open weights. We got the cake. Now we want the recipe.
Tell me what you think. I’m reading everything.
